Our regular public guided tours of the permanent exhibition are there to provide a lively insight into the city’s history. Public guided tours by the two working groups at the Kölnisches Stadtmuseum are included in the price of admission. These take place on Saturdays at 2.30 pm, Sundays at 11.15 am and on the first Thursday of each month (KölnTag) at 6.00 pm.
On Sundays at 2 pm there is also the chance to join one of the ‘speed tours’ offered by our student team. On a ‘KölnTag’, our students also invite you to an informal thematic tour at 7.30 pm. Anyone who gets three quiz questions right afterwards, can enjoy a ‘Kölsch’ at out bar ‘on the house’. The public guided tours are intended for individuals, not groups. No advance application is required.
Note: the language of the public tours, unless otherwise stated, is German.
A varied accompanying programme with numerous guided tours, some of them free of charge, is an enrichment to every special exhibition at the Kölnisches Stadtmuseum. Detailed information regarding dates can be found in the ‘Veranstaltungskalender’ (events calendar) or the flyers accompanying the exhibition in question. Note: the guided tours are in German unless otherwise stated.
